Firefly Wedding Sets October 9 Noitamina Premiere in Its Second Teaser PV

A date, at last

The Firefly Wedding anime has a premiere date. A second teaser PV published by the show's official account on August 2 sets the series to debut on October 9, and Anime News Network reports it will air in Fuji TV's Noitamina block on Fridays at 11:30 p.m. Crunchyroll will stream the series as it airs. Until now the adaptation had only carried a broad October 2026 window, so this is the first firm date on the calendar.

That window came from the anime's first teaser PV, which arrived alongside the main cast reveal and pinned the series to October 2026 without narrowing it further, as Anime Corner reported at the time. This second teaser is the reveal that closes the gap, and it does more than hand over a date: the broadcast slot, the ending theme, and two more roles all land in the same beat.

David Production, which is animating the series, shared the teaser and used the same post to point fans toward an advance screening event in September. Details on that screening have not been published yet.

Cast and music

The teaser also brought new names. Kent Ito joins as Kotaro Ogawa and Kenjiro Tsuda as Mitsueda, per Anime News Network, filling out a cast led by Lynn as Satoko Kirigaya and Koki Uchiyama as Shinpei Goto. TOOBOE performs the ending theme, titled "Yumegokochi."

On the staff side, Takahiro Kamei directs at David Production, with Yuko Kakihara supervising series composition, character designs by Yukiko Aikei, and music production handled by NOGRID. None of those credits are new to this reveal, but the teaser is the first place most of them have been heard alongside a locked date.

What the series is

Firefly Wedding is set in the Meiji era and follows Satoko Kirigaya, the daughter of an earl, known for both her lineage and her beauty. Her one wish is to marry for the good of her family. That plan is interrupted when a mysterious assassin comes for her life, and Satoko, trying to survive the encounter, makes him a proposal instead.

The anime adapts the manga written and illustrated by Oreko Tachibana, which ran on Shogakukan's Ura Sunday website and the MangaONE app from January 2023 to February 2026, according to Anime News Network. With the manga now complete and a Noitamina slot secured, the adaptation arrives with its source material finished, which is a rarer position than it sounds for a romance getting its first anime.
