Chained Soldier Season 3 Is in Production, Announced With a New PV and Visual
The Season 2 special event closed with confirmation of a third season, an announcement PV, and comments from the returning cast, though no release window was given.
A third season, announced on stage
Chained Soldier is getting a third season. The official account for the series confirmed on August 2 that production on Season 3 has been greenlit, posting that "thanks to everyone's support, production of Season 3 has been decided" alongside a newly drawn announcement visual. The reveal landed at the end of the Season 2 special event, held the same day at the Ebisu Garden Room in Tokyo with members of the cast on stage.
An announcement PV went up in the same window. Titled simply the Season 3 production-decision PV, it was published on Pony Canyon's anime channel and is streaming now. Anime News Network reports that Season 2 character designer Keiya Nakano drew a commemorative illustration to mark the announcement.
What has not been announced
No release date, broadcast window, or staff list for Season 3 has been given. The official post asks fans to look forward to further news, which is the only forward-looking commitment on record right now. Anime News Network's report likewise carries no date. Nothing has been said publicly about which studio will handle the new season either. Season 1 was produced at Seven Arcs, and Season 2 at Passione and Hayabusa Film, per Anime News Network, but neither has been attached to Season 3.
The cast weighs in
The series account followed the announcement with a run of cast comments. Yuya Hirose, who voices Yuuki Wakura, and Akari Kito, who voices squad chief Kyoka Uzen, were the first two posted. Comments from Kana Ichinose (Kinomi Tatara), Fairouz Ai (Mira Kamiunten), Manaka Iwami (Bell Tsukiyono), Maaya Uchida (Tenka Izumo), Fuka Izumi (Yakumo Ezo), Yukana (Fubuki Azuma), and Kana Hanazawa (Ren Yamashiro) followed. The event itself featured a live dubbing segment and a music performance.
