The Promised Neverland's 10th Anniversary One Shot Lands in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 39 on August 24

What was announced

The official account for The Promised Neverland confirmed on August 9 that the series' special side story one shot will run in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 39, which goes on sale in Japan on August 24. The same post unveiled a third newly drawn commemorative illustration by artist Posuka Demizu.

The one shot is the headline item in a run of projects marking 10 years since the manga began serialization. Until this post it carried only a loose summer 2026 window, so the issue number and the on sale date are the new pieces of information.

From a summer window to a firm date

Shueisha first revealed the one shot on April 27, during a Jump PRESS broadcast, where it was presented as one part of a five project anniversary lineup. Alongside the new chapter, that lineup included a stage musical adaptation, full color digital editions of the collected volumes, an additional pop up store tour, and a new online lottery.

The official post did not describe what the one shot covers. No page count, plot summary, or creator comment has come from the publisher yet, so anything beyond the publication date remains unconfirmed until the issue reaches shelves.

The anniversary campaign so far

August 1 marked 10 years to the day since the manga started running, and the official account greeted it with the first of Demizu's newly drawn illustrations. Two more have followed, on August 3 and again with this announcement on August 9. The account has also handed out phone wallpapers and character icons built from that art, including versions showing the three leads as older versions of themselves.

Readers who want to catch up can do it for free for the moment. Volumes 1 through 10 are available at no cost on Shonen Jump+ and Zebrack through August 31, a campaign the official account opened on August 1 to mark the anniversary.

The Promised Neverland was written by Kaiu Shirai and drawn by Demizu, and it ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020. Oricon reports the series has more than 42 million copies in circulation.
