Studio Cabana Manga Gets a TV Anime From JUVENAGE in 2027

What was announced

KADOKAWA has confirmed that Studio Cabana, the coming-of-age romance manga by Agri Uma, is getting a television anime set to premiere in 2027. The reveal arrived on July 22 through KADOKAWA's official anime channel, paired with a teaser key visual and the tagline "If this isn't love, then tell me what it is." This marks the manga's first full anime adaptation. A specific premiere date within 2027 has not been announced, and the series is being produced at the animation studio JUVENAGE.

The teaser visual sets the tone the story is known for, placing its two leads on either side of a chain-link fence alongside a stray electric guitar, a page of sheet music, and a headset, hinting at the music that pulls the pair together.

The team behind it

According to Anime News Network and Crunchyroll, the anime is directed by Shin'ichiro Ushijima, whose credits include the film I Want to Eat Your Pancreas and the idol series UniteUp!. Sawako Hirabayashi, known for Wolf Girl & Black Prince and Delicious Party Precure, is writing the series scripts, and Haruka Sagawa, who worked on Call of the Night and Re:ZERO seasons 3 and 4, is handling character design.

Sayumi Suzushiro is confirmed to voice protagonist Yukari Maki, reprising the role she first played in a 2022 promotional video for the manga. A voice actor for Yusuke Kusaka, the story's other lead, has not yet been announced, though his character features prominently in the new visual. No further cast has been revealed so far.

What the story is about

Studio Cabana follows Yukari Maki, a high schooler who prides herself on her honesty and feels she has nothing in common with her delinquent classmate Yusuke Kusaka. She grows attached to him as a self-appointed caretaker, much to his irritation, and one day follows him to a local recording studio named Studio Cabana, where she discovers his hidden life as a musician. That mix of music and tentative first love runs through the manga's quiet, understated tone, and the anime's staff lineup, stacked with romance and character-drama veterans, leans into exactly that register.

Background

Agri Uma launched Studio Cabana on KADOKAWA's pixiv Sylph online magazine in June 2021. The manga had collected eight volumes as of November 2025, with a ninth volume scheduled for August 21. English-language readers will get their own release as well: Yen Press has licensed the manga and plans to begin publishing it in winter 2027, roughly the same window as the anime. Fans hoping for a firmer premiere date, a broadcaster, or streaming details will have to wait, as KADOKAWA has confirmed only the year for now.
