Soara and the House of Monsters Manga Gets a 2027 TV Anime From Felix Film
Hidenori Yamaji's fantasy manga about a girl who builds homes for monsters is heading to television in 2027, with a first teaser and main cast revealed.
Hidenori Yamaji's fantasy manga Soara and the House of Monsters is getting a television anime, set to premiere in 2027. The project was revealed on July 1, 2026 with an ultra teaser visual, a first teaser trailer, and the reveal of the main cast and staff. Studio Felix Film is producing the series, and the official website is now live alongside the trailer. The premise trades the usual monster-slaying fantasy setup for something gentler, following a heroine who builds houses for monsters rather than hunting them.
Who is making it
Takaharu Ozaki is directing the anime at Felix Film, following his work on titles such as Goblin Slayer and Girls' Last Tour. Ayumu Hisao is handling series composition, Tomoko Iwasa is designing the characters, and Hinako Tsubakiyama is composing the music. Ikumi Hasegawa voices the lead, Soara, with Ayumu Murase as Kirik, the dwarf architect who pulls her into an unexpected new line of work. Both actors feature in the first teaser trailer, which offers an early look at the show's warm, adventurous tone.
What the story is about
Soara and the House of Monsters follows a young orphan girl who was raised by knights and trained to fight the monsters that once besieged her kingdom. By the time Soara is ready to take up the fight herself, peace has been declared and her sword is no longer needed. Searching for a new purpose, she meets Kirik, who leads a band of builders known as the Monster Architects. Rather than slaying monsters, they design and construct safe, comfortable homes for them. As Soara joins their travels, she discovers a gentler side of the fantasy world and a calling beyond the battlefield.
The source manga
Yamaji has serialized the manga on Shogakukan's Sunday Webry platform and in Shonen Sunday S since November 2021, and it currently runs to seven volumes, with the seventh scheduled for August 10. Seven Seas Entertainment has published the series in English since September 2023. The manga earned Next Manga Award nominations in the Best Web Manga category in 2022 and 2023, and a Best New Manga nomination at the inaugural American Manga Awards in 2024.
What we still do not know
For now the team has confirmed only a 2027 window. An exact release date, a broadcast network, and a streaming home have not been announced. Fans can expect additional cast, further staff reveals, and a fuller trailer as production continues. The manga's seventh volume, due August 10, will arrive well ahead of the broadcast, giving new readers time to catch up before the 2027 debut.
