Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 Sets July 8 Premiere on Crunchyroll
The military isekai returns for its first new TV season since 2017, arriving with a fresh trailer, both theme songs, and global streaming on Crunchyroll.
A near decade wait ends July 8
The Saga of Tanya the Evil is finally getting a second television season. The official anime account confirmed that Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2, titled Youjo Senki II in Japan, begins airing on July 8, 2026, and that Crunchyroll will stream the new episodes across most of the world as they air. It is the franchise's first new TV season since the 2017 original, which ran twelve episodes before a feature film continued the story in 2019.
What was announced
The date reveal arrived with a new main trailer, the second promo for the season, that previews both theme songs for the first time. According to the official account, MYTH & ROID perform the opening theme "Why? RED induction," while the ending theme "Weiter! Weiter!" is credited to Tanya Degurechaff herself, sung by Aoi Yuki and arranged by Masayuki Nakano of BOOM BOOM SATELLITES and THE SPELLBOUND. Both songs are set for a digital release on July 16. The account also announced additional casting, with Eiji Hanawa joining as Calandro.
In Japan, the official site says ABEMA and d Anime Store will carry the earliest streaming, ahead of the television broadcast. Crunchyroll has said the season will stream for viewers across North America, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the CIS region, and that an English dub is planned. The distributor is also bringing the season to Anime Expo 2026 with a dedicated panel.
Who is making it
The sequel is produced at studio NUT, with Takayuki Yukimoto directing, Kenta Ihara handling series composition, and Yuji Hosogoe back as character designer, according to reporting from Crunchyroll News and Anime Corner. The series adapts the light novels written by and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki.
