One Piece Heroines Special Sets July 5 Premiere With New Trailer and Theme Song

Toei Animation has released a new trailer for ONE PIECE HEROINES and confirmed that the spin-off special will broadcast in Japan on July 5, 2026. The studio describes the project as a special anime episode celebrating the heroines of One Piece, and the reveal arrived with a new theme song from singer AiNA THE END.

A spin-off built around the women of One Piece

According to Toei Animation, ONE PIECE HEROINES is a special anime episode dedicated to the franchise's female cast. AiNA THE END confirmed the broadcast will begin at 23:15 on July 5 and described it as a one-night special airing. Coverage from Anime Corner reports that the special draws on the light novel "One Piece: Heroines" by Jun Esaka, with illustrations by Sayaka Suwa, a collection of original side stories focused on the series' women that never appeared in the main manga.

Episode: Nami takes the spotlight

Anime Corner reports that this special adapts "Episode: Nami," a self-contained story centered on the Straw Hat navigator Nami. In it, Nami is left unhappy with a new pair of shoes and returns to the shop, where a designer offers to craft her a custom pair on the condition that she model them. Nico Robin is also reported to appear, with the adaptation said to add original elements beyond the novel.

Blue Shining Star and the new trailer

AiNA THE END announced that her new song "Blue Shining Star" will serve as the special's theme song, with a digital release set for July 1, ahead of the broadcast. The track debuted alongside the freshly released trailer, giving fans a first look at the special and a first listen to its music.

What to know before July 5

Per Anime Corner, the main One Piece anime airs episode 1168 on June 28, after which the series takes a short break before ONE PIECE HEROINES premieres the following week. The same report lists Haruka Kamatani as director, Takashi Kojima on character designs, Momoka Toyoda on screenplay, and Alisa Okehazama on music, with Maaya Sakamoto and Takehito Koyasu among the newly announced cast. A release outside Japan has not yet been announced.
