The high school rom-com's second season will premiere in January 2027, its first release window since the sequel was confirmed in 2025.

What was announced
The high school rom-com Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms has a return date. According to Crunchyroll News, the second season of the TV anime is scheduled to premiere in January 2027. It is the first concrete release window for the sequel, and the date was shared alongside a new celebratory illustration from the series' official account. An exact premiere day has not been announced yet.
The wait has been a long one. The sequel was first confirmed in March 2025, immediately after the first season's finale, and a teaser visual with returning cast and staff followed in May 2026. Today's reveal finally attaches a window to those earlier updates.
Who is coming back
Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms Season 2 continues at studio Synergy SP, with Yoshiaki Okumura returning to direct. Character designer Mayumi Watanabe and composer Akiyuki Tateyama are back from the first season as well. There is one notable change in the writers' room. As Anime News Network reported when the teaser dropped in May 2026, Yoriko Tomita, known for her scripts on My Dress-Up Darling and The Elusive Samurai, takes over series composition from Kazuyuki Fudeyasu.
The leads are unchanged. Yuu Serizawa again voices Mona Kawai, the effortlessly popular girl who cannot get a rise out of anyone, and Ryouta Iwasaki returns as Medaka Kuroiwa, the transfer student who stays completely unmoved by her charm offensive.
