Crunchyroll used its Anime Expo 2026 panel to reveal that Here U Are, the Chinese boys love webtoon by D JUN, is being adapted into a television anime. According to Crunchyroll, the series is currently in production and will stream on the platform, and the company debuted a teaser during the showcase. The reveal landed as one of several new titles Crunchyroll unveiled across its convention slate. A release date has not been announced yet.

The staff and cast

Rouseact is producing the anime, with Tomoe Makino directing. Aiki Kawamura is handling series composition, Asami Hayakawa is designing the characters, and Shinya Kiyozuka is composing the music, a fitting pick given how much the story leans on piano. The two leads are already cast: Yuki Inoue voices Yu Yang, the outgoing upperclassman adored by everyone around him, and Ryota Suzuki plays Li Huan, the reserved new student who keeps the world at arm's length.

D JUN's Here U Are was serialized on Dongman Entertainment Corp's Dongman Manhua platform from 2017 to 2020, and its chapters were later collected into eight volumes. The series built a sizable international following through WEBTOON, where it has drawn more than 27 million views, and it is remembered by readers as a gentle, character driven romance rather than a plot heavy drama. Its move into animation continues a run of webtoon and manhua projects Crunchyroll has picked up, and reporting from the floor noted that the reveal drew loud applause from the room.
