Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe Starts Streaming August 31 on Netflix and Prime Video

The second film in the Hathaway trilogy is leaving theaters for streaming. Netflix's anime account announced that Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe arrives on the service on August 31, and Prime Video Japan announced the same date for subscription streaming, preceded by paid digital rentals on August 17.

What each platform announced

The film's official account confirmed that the movie will stream on Prime Video in Japan, listing two milestones. Digital purchase and rental open first on Monday, August 17, and subscription streaming follows on Monday, August 31. The Japanese announcement describes that subscription window as a domestic exclusive, which is the wording both the film's account and Prime Video's anime account used.

Netflix's own anime account announced the August 31 date in English on the same day, framing it simply as the continuation of Hathaway's mission. Neither post spells out exactly which territories each service covers, so anyone outside Japan should check their regional listing closer to the date rather than assume a global rollout. What is confirmed is the date itself, announced by both platforms within minutes of each other.

This is the first streaming release of any kind for the sequel, which had been available only in theaters since its Japanese opening.

A theatrical run that beat the first film

Prime Video's announcement notes that the film has passed 2.7 billion yen at the Japanese box office. That is comfortably ahead of the 2021 original, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, which took a very different route to audiences: it opened in Japanese theaters in June 2021 and reached international viewers through streaming rather than a wide overseas theatrical run.

The sequel opened in Japan on January 30, 2026. Bandai Namco Filmworks then handled a North American theatrical release on May 15, according to the film's official English site, giving the movie a proper run in overseas cinemas before this streaming date.

Where the story picks up

The Sorcery of Nymph Circe follows as he prepares Mafty's attack on the Adelaide Conference while being pulled toward , the mysterious girl whose cryptic words keep unsettling him. On the other side, of the Earth Federation Forces builds a defense operation for the conference and a plan to eliminate Mafty, and is approached with a secret proposal of his own. Gigi, meanwhile, sets off for Hong Kong to play out her own part.
