The banana-dwelling cats are coming back. On June 30, the official Bananya anime account revealed the title and key visual for the franchise's 10th anniversary project, a new short-form anime called Bananya: At-Home Party (ばなにゃ あっとほーむぱーてぃー). The account confirmed that the series will begin streaming on July 10, 2026, rolling out across streaming sites in sequence from 9:00 a.m. JST.

The reveal puts a name to a project that had been teased for months. TMS Entertainment, which produces the franchise, marked the 10th anniversary earlier in 2026 with a commemorative logo and said a brand-new Bananya anime was in the works, though the title and release date had not been set at that time. The new announcement fills in both, along with a first look at the anniversary cast.

Alongside the title and key visual, the account released a main trailer set to the show's new theme song. Voice actor Yuki Kaji returns as Bananya the banana cat, the round, banana-bodied kitty at the center of the series, leading a lineup of returning banana cats shown together in the new key visual.

The trailer is scored by a new theme song titled "Nyandafuru Nyandarando" (にゃんだふる☆にゃんだ～らんど), performed by the popular game streamer TAMA-chan. According to the official account, the song already soundtracks the freshly released main trailer, which introduces Bananya and friends as they wake up transformed into banana cats. The staggered streaming start means the shorts will appear on participating platforms over time rather than all at once.

Background

Bananya first aired in July 2016 as a series of short episodes about the secret life of kitties who live inside bananas. The original run spanned 13 bite-sized shorts in a gentle, slice-of-life style, and the franchise has since expanded with further installments, including Bananya Around the World. Built around very short episodes and an ever-growing roster of banana cats, each with its own look and personality, the property has leaned into character-driven charm and merchandise rather than long-form storytelling.

At-Home Party continues that template as an anniversary celebration, gathering the familiar cast for new adventures a decade on. For longtime fans it is a low-stakes but welcome return, and for newcomers the short format makes it an easy place to meet the cats for the first time. With the title, key visual, trailer, theme song, and date now all in place, the only thing left is the July 10 premiere.
