Though I Am an Inept Villainess has released a pre-broadcast PV ahead of its July premiere, and the clip doubles as the reveal of the series' ending theme. According to the show's official account, the ending theme is "Houkiboshi," performed by Rokudenashi, with lyrics and composition by Eve. The new PV sets the song against fresh footage from the series, and the title fits the material: "houkiboshi" means comet, and Prime Video's own teaser copy frames the premise as two girls whose fates swap on the night a comet shines. A separate cast and staff comment from the production accompanied the theme reveal.

The anime is set to begin on July 12 at 11:45 p.m. on TV Tokyo and its affiliated stations, the official account confirms. The reveal arrived the same day as a livestreamed launch event for the series, which featured cast members and is now available on the official channel as an archive.

Prime Video joins the streaming lineup

Alongside the PV, the official Prime Video Anime account announced that the series will stream on Prime Video on a subscription basis starting July 13.
