The official account for the Rascal Does Not Dream series has released the main trailer for Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend, the movie billed as the conclusion of the franchise. The full trailer went up on July 4, ahead of the film's theatrical premiere in Japan on October 16, 2026, a date first revealed alongside the teaser back in March.

The new clip previews a theme song titled "Turn the World Upside Down," performed by Tōko Kirishima, according to Anime News Network. Advance tickets carrying special bonuses were also announced as part of the promotional rollout. The trailer leans into the series' signature blend of grounded high school and university drama and the quiet unease of its supernatural Adolescence Syndrome, teasing an emotional close to a story that has run for the better part of a decade.

What the film covers

The movie follows Sakuta Azusagawa as he takes on what is framed as his final case of Adolescence Syndrome, confronting the truth about Miori and Touko Kirishima. It continues the university chapter of Sakuta's story with his girlfriend Mai Sakurajima, picking up after the previous entry, Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus, which wrapped in 2025. Kaito Ishikawa and Asami Seto reprise their roles as Sakuta and Mai.
