One Piece Heroines Gives Nami Her Own Special Anime, Streaming July 5
The one-night special spotlights Nami in a fashion-focused story, streaming via same-day simulcast on Crunchyroll with a Netflix release to follow on July 11.

Nami gets her own anime spotlight
One Piece is handing its navigator the spotlight. Eiichiro Oda's One Piece is airing a one-night special, One Piece Heroines, on July 5, 2026, and Toei Animation confirms it reaches international viewers through a same-day simulcast. Rather than the Straw Hats' usual pirate adventures, the special turns to Nami for a standalone story built around fashion and everyday life.
What was announced
According to the official One Piece staff account and Toei Animation, One Piece Heroines is a special anime episode that premieres in Japan on Fuji TV and affiliated stations at 11:15 p.m. JST on July 5, running roughly half an hour. Toei Animation announced that the episode streams internationally the same day, reaching Crunchyroll for simulcast viewers, with a worldwide Netflix release to follow on July 11. The main One Piece television anime is taking the week off to make room for the special, and regular episodes are set to resume shortly after.
A different side of the franchise
The special is billed as a female-character-focused corner of One Piece, adapting Jun Esaka's One Piece Heroines light novel series, illustrated by Sayaka Suwa. It marks the first anime adaptation of those novels, which spotlight the franchise's women through standalone stories. The advance footage and cuts shared by the production lean into a softer look than the main series, emphasizing character designs, backgrounds, and a lighter, fashion-forward tone over the usual shonen action.
What the story covers
Per the official preview, the episode follows Nami after she buys a poorly made pair of shoes that leave her feet badly hurt. When she goes to return them, she meets a designer named Rubno, who offers to remake the shoes if she models them at an upcoming fashion show. The repairs are entrusted to a talented shoemaker, Miucha, pulling Nami into an adventure well outside her navigator duties. Reporting on the special notes that veteran voice actress Maaya Sakamoto joins the cast as Miucha, with Takehito Koyasu, long familiar to One Piece fans, voicing Rubno.
