Kaiju Girl Caramelise Anime Premieres July 2 With a New Global Key Visual

A summer kaiju romance arrives

The television anime adaptation of Kaiju Girl Caramelise is about to make its debut. According to the official anime account run by Pony Canyon (@ponycan_anime), the series premieres on July 2, airing on TBS at 25:28 JST, which lands in the early hours of July 3. Broadcasts on BS11 and AT-X follow later in the week, and Crunchyroll is streaming the series for international viewers.

To mark the launch, Pony Canyon released a new global key visual on June 30 that pairs the story's two leads, Arata Minami and the kaiju Harugon. Kaiju Girl Caramelise is a romance with a supernatural streak, and the visual leans into that contrast between ordinary high-school life and something far larger.

What the story is about

The anime is based on the seinen manga by Spica Aoki, which has run in Monthly Comic Alive since February 2018. It follows Kuroe Akaishi, a quiet high-school student who hides an unusual condition. When her heart races, she transforms into a giant kaiju. Her growing feelings for Arata Minami, a popular and easygoing classmate, keep threatening to expose her monstrous secret, turning an everyday crush into a citywide problem.

Studio and staff

The series is produced at LIDEN FILMS, with Teruyuki Omine directing, according to Anime News Network. Yuniko Ayana handles series composition and Mitomi Nakayama is in charge of character design. Omine's past work includes episode direction on titles such as Attack on Titan The Final Season and Spy x Family.

The voice cast is led by Hikari Senga as Kuroe Akaishi and Daishi Kajita as Arata Minami. Supporting players include Akira Sekine, Haruka Shiraishi, Kotono Mitsuishi and Katsuyuki Konishi.

Music

METANICK performs the opening theme "Otome Kaiju," while HoneyWorks featuring HaKoniwalily provides the ending theme "Otome no Honki." Both songs arrive alongside the premiere, and the opening single began streaming ahead of the broadcast.
