Toho Animation revealed the first teaser for the fourth season, which is in production with no release date yet announced.
What was announced
Toho Animation and the official Jujutsu Kaisen account released the first teaser for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4: The Culling Game Part 2 on June 19, posting the video directly to their accounts after MAPPA's 15th anniversary livestream. The teaser confirms the fourth season is in production, though no release date has been announced.
The footage continues the Culling Game, the deadly battle royale that has driven the series since its third season. Reporting from Anime News Network and Anime Corner describes the teaser previewing several of the arc's marquee matchups, including Hakari against Kashimo and Yuki Tsukumo alongside Choso holding the line against Kenjaku. It also shows Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro pushing deeper into the conflict.
A new director steps in
The teaser doubled as a staff announcement. According to Anime News Network and Anime Corner, Takeru Sato, the assistant director on Season 3, is taking over as director for the new season. Shota Goshozono, who directed Season 2 and worked on Season 3, moves up to chief director. The reveal came as part of MAPPA's 15th anniversary lineup event, which also featured updates on other studio titles.
Background
Jujutsu Kaisen is based on Gege Akutami's manga and first premiered in October 2020. The series follows Yuji Itadori, an ordinary high schooler who swallows a cursed object to save a classmate and is pulled into the hidden world of jujutsu sorcery. Its earlier seasons and the ongoing Culling Game arc have made it one of MAPPA's flagship properties.
Season 3, which covers The Culling Game Part 1, is currently streaming on Crunchyroll. Multiple outlets report it is also set to arrive on Hulu on July 10, 2026, in both subtitled and dubbed versions, widening access for viewers ahead of the new season. For now, fans have a teaser and a production confirmation, but no premiere window.
