Girls und Panzer das Finale Part 5 Reveals First Full Trailer Ahead of October 9 Premiere

What was announced

On June 28, Bandai Namco Filmworks released the first full trailer and first key visual for Girls und Panzer das Finale Part 5, the fifth film in the long running theatrical series. The official account confirmed that the film opens in Japanese theaters on October 9, 2026, and that it will be shown in Dolby Cinema for the first time in the das Finale series, alongside Dolby Atmos, 4DX, and MX4D formats.

The rollout also included advance movie ticket cards, with a second wave bundling original art clear files going on sale at participating theaters from July 3. According to the official distributor VSTORAGE, Part 5 will screen with the pilot of a tankette focused spin off, Girls und Panzer: Princess Samurai. A shorter teaser trailer appeared earlier in the year, so the June 28 update marks the first full trailer and the first key visual for the film.

What the trailer shows

The newly revealed key visual centers on Miho Nishizumi aboard her Panzer IV, facing off against the tanks of St. Gloriana Girls' College. The official synopsis places the film after Oarai Girls High School's win in the semi finals of the Winter Continuous Track Cup, as the team advances to the finals against St. Gloriana, led by Darjeeling. Anime News Network reports that St. Gloriana's roster includes Alice, who transferred specifically to face Miho again.

Background

Girls und Panzer das Finale is a six part theatrical series that began in 2017, which makes Part 5 the penultimate chapter. The earlier films opened on December 9, 2017 (Part 1), June 15, 2019 (Part 2), March 26, 2021 (Part 3), and October 6, 2023 (Part 4), per Anime News Network. The franchise grew out of the 2012 Girls und Panzer television anime and a 2015 film. Director Tsutomu Mizushima returns for Part 5, which Anime News Network notes has been in production since 2023, with dubbing reported to have begun in 2025.

A release window for the sixth and final film has not been announced.
