Eleceed Anime Reveals New Key Visual and Shifts to Early 2027
The DandeLion Animation Studio adaptation of the hit webtoon unveiled a fresh key visual, with reports pointing to an early 2027 premiere instead of 2026.

A new key visual, and a new window
The official account for the Eleceed TV anime (@Eleceed_pr) unveiled a new key visual on June 26, 2026, posted under the banner "KV解禁" ("key visual revealed") with the tagline "the path to the strongest, led by a cat." According to Anime Trends, the reveal arrived alongside an updated premiere window of early 2027, a delay from the 2026 debut the project carried when it was first announced.
The series adapts the long running Korean webtoon by writer Jeho Son and artist ZHENA. It follows a kind hearted college student named Jiwoo and a cat named Kayden, and the official tagline frames their meeting as the start of a journey toward the top. The new visual centers that pairing.
What we know about the production
Eleceed is being produced at DandeLion Animation Studio, the team behind THE FIRST SLAM DUNK and the Academy Award nominated short Magic Candies. Hiroshi Nishikiori is directing, with series composition by Yosuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia) and character designs by Minami Sakura. Those staff credits were set at the project's original announcement and were restated alongside the new visual.
Beyond the early 2027 window, no specific premiere date or broadcast platform has been confirmed in the materials tied to this update, and no main cast has been announced. Anime Trends notes that creators Jeho Son and ZHENA are scheduled to appear at Anime Expo 2026 on July 4.
The webtoon behind it
Eleceed has run on Naver Webtoon since 2018 and ranks among the platform's most read battle action titles, a profile that has fueled anticipation for the anime since the adaptation was first revealed. In our catalog the series is listed as an action title. With a major studio attached and a new window now in view, the wait grows a little longer, but the project's footing looks firmer than ever.
