Lord of Mysteries: All Three Special Episodes Are Now Streaming on Crunchyroll
All three Lord of Mysteries special episodes are now available on Crunchyroll, adapting arcs the first season skipped and bridging toward a planned 2027 second season.

Three specials, now complete on Crunchyroll
All three Lord of Mysteries special episodes are now streaming on Crunchyroll. According to Crunchyroll's own announcement, the specials began arriving on June 20, 2026, and the full set is now available to stream in most regions outside Japan and China. English language fan accounts, including @theotakuinsider and @AnimeSpotlightt, relayed the completed rollout to overseas viewers.
For a donghua that built a sizable international following during its 2025 run, the specials are the first substantial new footage since the first season wrapped.
What the special episodes adapt
The specials revisit material the first season moved past quickly. According to reporting on Crunchyroll's announcement, the run opens with an episode built around the Silver City storyline and continues into events tied to the Vice Admiral Qilango thread from Cuttlefish's original novel. Outlets have listed the opening entry as "City of Silver," with the two follow up episodes grouped under "The Marked Hunt."
The context matters here. The first season adapted the novel's opening "The Clown" volume across 13 episodes, and some novel readers felt that pace compressed or skipped connective story beats. These specials are positioned to fill in some of that missing ground rather than push the main story forward.
Background on the series
Lord of Mysteries is the animated adaptation of Cuttlefish's web novel, which was serialized between 2018 and 2020. The donghua, produced by Tencent Video and animated by B.CMAY Pictures under director Xiong Ke, first premiered in June 2025 and ran for 13 episodes. In our catalog it is filed as an action, fantasy, mystery and suspense series, and it follows protagonist Klein Moretti through a world of secret societies and occult power.
The adaptation drew a devoted audience among readers of the source novel, which is part of why the pacing debate around the first season carried as much weight as it did.
What comes next
Beyond filling gaps, the specials serve as a bridge to the series' future. Reporting around the announcement points to a second season planned for 2027, with the specials framed as a way to keep the story warm in the meantime. A firm premiere date for that second season has not been announced.
