Hana-Kimi Season 2 English Dub Premieres July 15 on Crunchyroll

What was announced

Crunchyroll has dated an English dub for Hana-Kimi Season 2, with the first two dubbed episodes arriving on Wednesday, July 15. According to Crunchyroll, new dubbed episodes then follow weekly on Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. PT, streaming alongside the subtitled release that has run since the season began earlier this month.

The romantic comedy follows Mizuki Ashiya, who disguises herself as a boy to enroll at an all boys boarding school and get close to high jump star Izumi Sano. Season 2 continues that premise, with Shuuichi Nakatsu still tangled up in the fallout of Mizuki's secret.

The English dub cast

Crunchyroll's announcement lists Katelyn Barr as Mizuki, Wyatt Baker as Sano, and Dallas Reid as Nakatsu, with Reagan Murdock voicing Hokuto Umeda. Jad Saxton directs the dub, joined by Hayden Daviau and Ben Stegmair as assistant voice directors, while Heather Walker handles the English script adaptation. The wider cast includes Jonathan Lim, Nasim Benelkour, Charles Nguyen, and Sean Letourneau, among others.

The team behind the anime

On the Japanese production side, Crunchyroll and trade coverage credit Natsuki Takemura as director at studio Signal.MD, with Takao Yoshioka handling series composition, Shiyi Su on character designs, and Masaru Yokoyama composing the score. Omoinotake performs both the opening theme, "Flashbulb," and the ending theme, "Hanataba," carrying over the musical identity fans knew from the show's return.

What we know

Season 2 runs 13 episodes and premiered in Japan at the start of July, adapting more of Hisaya Nakajo's long running shojo manga. With the dub now dated, English speaking viewers can follow the season on the same weekly Wednesday cadence as its subtitled counterpart rather than waiting for a batched release later on. Crunchyroll is putting out the subtitled and dubbed versions in the same window, keeping the two tracks close together across the summer run.
