Assassination Classroom the Movie: Our Time begins streaming on Crunchyroll on July 23, 2026, the service announced. It is the first time the feature has been available outside of Japanese theaters, where it opened earlier this year. Crunchyroll already streams the television series, so the film slots in alongside the anime that first introduced Class 3-E to global audiences.

The movie is a commemorative project marking ten years since both the manga and the television anime came to a close. Rather than retelling the story, it adapts chapters from the original manga that the TV run left out, giving longtime fans new material built around the same cast.

What the film is

Our Time premiered in Japanese theaters on March 20, 2026, screening in 164 locations nationwide. It runs 86 minutes and was produced at studio Lerche, with Masaki Kitamura directing. Makoto Uezu, a returning writer from the television series, penned the screenplay, and Aya Higami handled character designs. The film reunites the students of Class 3-E and their target, the tentacled homeroom teacher Koro-sensei, who has given the class one school year to assassinate him before he destroys the Earth.

Background

Assassination Classroom began as a manga by Yusei Matsui, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from July 2012 to March 2016 and collected into 21 volumes. The premise pairs deadpan comedy with real stakes: an unkillable creature agrees to teach a class of underachievers, and the government offers a bounty to whichever student can kill him first. The anime followed, and its ensemble, led by the blue-haired Nagisa Shiota and the sharp-tongued Karma Akabane, carried the story across two seasons.
