Professor Layton and the Curious Village is a entertaining cross between a Sherlock Holmes mystery and a Hayao Miyazaki film. What first struck me about the game was the high quality of the animation: For a Nintendo DS title I wasn't expecting the level of detail you'd see in a Wii game, however the developers put quite a bit of craftsmanship into creating highly compelling character designs. When I saw Tekkonkinkreet at Virgin Megastore with a friend, I completely dismissed it. The cover wasn't spectacular and the artwork didn't look pretty to me. "One of the Best Animes Ever!" it boasts right on the cover. My friend was wondering if he should pick it up; it was on sale after all. Considering we were already spending a fortune there, I said we can skip it for another day (I was actually hoping the ìanother dayî would never come and we didn't have to waste money on this DVD). Just in case he did want to watch it, I went and borrowed it from Netflix (yeah, I'm frugal and what?). When it came in, it sat in the junk mail section for three weeks and even then I was leery about watching it. Read More...
Two words: smooth and sexy. Don't be stupid and dismiss this anime like I did at the beginning. It doesn't scream, "Wow, wow, look at me!" but it definitely does a soft growl of, "Hey, you got a minute?" and then grabs you by the balls. After that, you are at its mercy.
At first, you might be put off by its not-so-spectacular visuals and corny dialogue... hell, I was. And then, Blue walks in. Actually, she drives in, roaring and kicking ass. First, she tries to run over a guy; thank god he's dead already. Read More...

The Wallflower has been an absolutely surprising riot to watch. I must admit it does start off like a yaoi when it introduces us to our first four main characters: Ranmaru, Kyohei, Yukinojo, and Takenaga. They are four of the most gorgeous guys to ever grace the Earth and at the moment they are all in a mansion and living a life of leisure thanks to Auntie Akiko. She sounds old but she is really young and beautiful; there have been descriptions of her as being the Marie Antoinette of the East. Their free ride is about to end though because Auntie Akiko has given them a job that they better accomplish or they'll have to pay back every cent of their old expenses and pay triple their normal rent in the future. Liking the sound of living an all expense paid lifestyle for the next year (I think we all would), our four guys will just have to teach a girl HOW to be a girl. Read More...
There's been talk that we're sending convicts to prisons in other countries. In Jing, King of Bandits: Seventh Heaven, it looks like we're sending convicts to prisons in other realities.
Don't let the name fool you. Seventh Heaven has nothing to do with the Stephen Collins TV series. It's really a prison, and not just any prison. It's a magical prison. It's a fantastic prison. It's a veritable Hogwarts of a prison. It's like the bathhouse in the movie Spirited Away, only it's a prison. The warden keeps bats. The guards have wings. The prisoners break open like pinatas (games and candy spew out of their bodies). This is the sort of prison Bo-Bo-Bo, Bo, Bo-Bo-Bo might wind up in, should he break the law. Read More...
Most manga concentrate on one story with one set of characters that exist in this one world. Most manga have their story written by one person and drawn by one person as well so that there is a consistency for their fans. Most manga just fall into one genre. Have you noticed all the ones that I have repeated? Please welcome Deja-Vu to the game because it has just blown away all these ones. Read More...
Empowered
American Manga Review by Brian Cirulnick
Okay, I admit it. I've got a fetish for Wonder Woman in bondage. But the good news is, Adam Warren's "Empowered" is just the ticket for a guy like me. Not only is this super hot chick in a skintight revealing costume, but the costume seems to get torn to shreds with stunning regularity, and since the suit provides her super-powers, she often winds up tied up by the bad guys as well. Young Benjamin Kowalski awoke one morning to a slice of life. It was served up hot and spicy, just the way the locals take it. Ben is a newcomer to Templar, Arizona.
